At Aya, we strive to be more than your regular non-profit. We want to be a force for good in this often crazy world we live in so we’ve instituted six Core Values to serve as our guide.
PASSION – We continuously reflect on our own privilege and leverage it for the betterment of others. Our passion comes from our gratitude.
SUSTAINABILITY – What works in one part of the world won’t necessarily translate to another. We must embrace these differences and nuances of cross-cultural collaboration to ensure our projects succeed in creating a lasting impact.
UBUNTU – A nod to Archbishop Desmond Tutu. We believe in the innate goodness and interconnectedness of humanity; We are, because you are.
COMMITMENT – We will evaluate, re-evaluate, and evaluate our organization some more to ensure transparency, honesty, and empathy to each other, our community (you), and those we work with.
RESILIENCE – The root of Aya. We must work hard to create a culture of optimism, self-growth, and ambition amongst our own staff and those we work alongside abroad.
JUSTICE – Positive impact is attainable by pursuing both equality and equity in everything we do.
